We are pleased to announce that Ilarion “Larry” Merculieff, an Aleut (Unangan) elder is coming from Alaska to be with us at the East Bay Area, in October 22, 2014.  Larry was raised traditionally on the Pribilof islands in the Bering Sea. Larry’s traditional name “Kuuyux” was given to him when he was 4-years-old, and means “extension of ancient knowledge into modern times.”

Larry Merculieff is an indigenous messenger and teacher. Indigenous wisdom keepers throughout the western hemisphere and other parts of the world have shared their wisdom, knowledge and prophecies with him, asking him to share their words with others. Issues related to cultural and community wellness, traditional ways of living, elder wisdom, and the environment are close to his heart. He recently chaired the indigenous knowledge sessions at the Global Summit of Indigenous Peoples on Climate Change attended by indigenous representatives from 80 nations.

Larry’s clarity of mind, heart and spirit delivers a connected and timeless message from the wisdom of his ancestors that adds insightful meaning to the next age of mankind.

Larry Merculieff has served his people, the Aleut people of the Pribilof Islands and indigenous peoples worldwide, for four decades.
